1. Is the MUVBOX available to buy or lease or franchise?
A: At the present time, the MUVBOX is available for purchase to companies in the restaurant and catering sector. Each MUVBOX is custom tailored to the buyer's needs. The kitchen design and complete configuration including selection of appliances, heating ventilation, etc is based on the menu proposed.
2. What container applications are available now - retail or restaurant?
A: The business is focused on developing and servicing the food service industry. However designs can be adaptated for retail and other trade purposes.
3. Is the container concept available for customizing into other food concepts such as a café, hot sandwich deli, cocktail bar etc?
A: Yes, the MUVBOX is available in various configurations with options of stoves, fridges, etc. Please submit your specific inquiry on the CONTACT US page.
4. Do the solar panels provide enough electricity to power all the kitchen equipment?
A: The solar panels power the interior LED lights and manage the opening/closing of the side panels. In future MUVBOX configurations, more solar and energy efficient systems will be incorporated into the operation.
5. How heavy is the MUVBOX?
A: MUVBOX weighs approximately 12,000 lbs or 5,443 kilograms.
6. Can the MUVBOX be shipped across international borders?
A: The MUVBOX is a reclycled international maritime container and as such, is completely transportable by land or sea.
7. What are the voltage specs? Is a back-up generator required or recommended?
A: Depending on your location and food offering, there is no limit of options for powering your MUVBOX. The current model (base) runs on 12 or 24 volt deep cycle batteries, along with a back-up generator. While a generator is not included in the build, it is recommended for managing the refrigeration system. In addition, if your MUVBOX requires a stove/cooktop, options for propane or diesel are available.
8. Can the oven be substituted for a stove/cooktop or grill or a larger refrigerator?
A: Several kitchen alternatives are available and your MUVBOX can be configured according to your menu. Please submit your request for a quote to the CONTACT US page.
9. How does the waste management, plumbing and sewage work?
A: The current model (base) runs with a fresh water reserve, which is managed daily. In addition, there is a grey water tank which is emptied daily. Recycle boxes for packaging waste are recommended.
10. Does the MUVBOX include a toilet?
A: The base model does not include a toilet. Tank and pump options will be made available to restaurant owners and countries that are required by local health and safety codes to have a toilet for staff. Biodegradable systems will be available. 11. Where does the waste water go?
A: Options for drainage of water include: access to a public drain, an optional grey water or black water tank similar to those found on boats.
12. 12. Do I have to get permits to set-up a MUVBOX in my city?
A: All permits to operate are the responsibility of the MUVBOX owner and must confirm to your country’s Health Department’s regulations.
13. Can the MUVBOX operate indoors? (ie without the solar panels)
A: To operate indoors, a MUVBOX with a ventilation system is required. In the current model which operates outdoors, the 3 open sides serve for ventilation purposes. Rechargeable batteries or fuel cell options are available.
14. What restaurant accessories are available to compliment the "restaurant"?
A: The MUVBOX container comes as a ready-to-operate restaurant. The MUVBOX comes with two sun awnings. We can offer you links to source complimentary tables, benches, chairs and fencing. For an additional fee, we offer operational training, recipe/menu creation, as well as branding and design services.
15. Is a price list available?

16. What environmental practices or recycled materials are incorporated into other areas of the MUVBOX?
A: All of the food packaging including napkins, tray and cups are made from recycled paper; the utensils are made from biodegradable plastic. 17. Is the MUVBOX “as is” available for short-term lease (ie. 3 months – 1 year)?
A: Currently, the MUVBOX is not available for leasing or rental.
18. How long does delivery of my MUVBOX take after placing an order?
A: A basic MUVBOX unit takes approximately six weeks of production. Depending on quantity ordered and custom finishing, the MUVBOX can take up to an additional six weeks of manufacturing time. Delivery is dependent on method of transportation and location. International shipping from the port of Montreal to Asia or Europe typically take an average of 15 days at sea.
19. Is shipping included in the purchase price?
A: All shipping is quoted to the customer F.O.B. Montreal, Quebec.
20. Is there a pull-out runway for access to handicap persons/patrons?
A: A runway is not currently available however we will build and configure one if requested.
21. Can the sun canopies sustain very hot temperatures and sunny climates?
A: The awnings are completely customizable and are created from a UV resistant material, like those found on boats.
